Architects Emmanuelle Marin, David Trottin and Anne-Françoise Jumeau wanted to create an undulating external facade clad in aluminium, mimicking a stack of book pages and 19 two-dimensional eyes.

The eyes (four on the Western side, six on the Eastern and nine on the Northern) represent as many views of the city and the surrounding landscape.

To achieve this result, we widened some panels by 400-500 mm, while other openings were created with a composition of individual curved pieces.

The medialibrary is composed of 9,700 pieces of expanded metal, including 1,200 unique ones.
