To guarantee strength, elasticity and safety, the design of the bridge over the Polcevera River incorporates a covering of silver anodized aluminium and areas painted in red, both with an extremely high resistance to corrosion.
We conducted a deep analysis of the issue and identified the best solution to manage significant vibration and structural movement caused by the passage of vehicles.
We then created panels with welded frames, appropriately shaped to follow the curves of the bridge, and independently secured to the structure through point brackets.
Metalltech provided structural calculations, wind tunnel and fatigue tests for structural vibrations.
